How to select everything to the right in Premiere Pro

To select everything to the right of all tracks on Premiere Pro timeline (including video clips, audio and images) use A keyboard shortcut, and click on a clip on any of the tracks. Then you can press and hold shift key to select single track (instead all tracks to the right.)

How to select all video clips to the right of playhead on a track

For a long time I edited videos not knowing about Track Select Forward Tool. I would simply zoom out on timeline and select all clips using the mouse. But once your project becomes really long, it's not easy and not necessary to zoom out just to select everything to the right.

When you have a long video and want to insert additional clips between existing content, you might want to select everything to the right of playhead in Premiere Pro. Then move that selection to the right, opening more space for inserting new video clip in between.

For Visual Speed-Learners: watch this YouTube video that goes over examples in this tutorial visually!

Sometimes you want to select all clips to the left as well, in order to trim some of the clips from the beginning of your video project (or perform similar video editing task on multiple clips.)

First, locate the Track Select Forward Tool on Premiere Pro toolbar:

Click on Track Select Forward Tool button to enter select all clips on all tracks to the right mode. Then click on any of the clips in any of your tracks.

You can also activate "select everything to the right" mode by pressing A on keyboard. This shortcut works together with Shift + A which will turn on "select everything to the left" mode.

How to select everything to the right on All Tracks (Multiple Tracks)

This is the default functionality of Track Select Forward Tool. The quickest way to demonstrate this example is with an image:

How to select everything to the right (all clips) in Premiere Pro on all tracks at the same time.

Press A keyboard shortcut, then click on any clip on timeline.

This will select all video clips, all audios and all images on all tracks to the right of the clip you clicked on. But that's not always what you want.

But what if you want to select everything only on a single track?

How to select everything to the right on a Single Track

Follow the same steps above to enter Track Select Forward Tool mode.

In that mode, press and hold Shift key. Now, whenever you click on a track, only video clips, audio clips or images will be selected on that track alone.

How to select everything to the right (all clips) in Premiere Pro on a single track.

Press A keyboard shortcut, then press and hold shift and then click on any clip on timeline.

How to select everything to the left

There are times when you want to trim everything to the left on the timeline.

There is an opposite of "select everything to the right" tool called Track Select Backward Tool. To access it, click and hold Track Select Forward Tool button and on the popup menu, select it.

The keyboard shortcut for Track Select Backward Tool is Shift + A:

How to select everything to the left (trim clips)

Press Shift + A keyboard shortcut, then click on any clip on timeline.

You can use this shortcut to trim all clips from the beginning of your project, by deleting all clips before playhead or the clip you click on.
